This case study with narrative analysis was to describe and analyze global identity formation in high school students at an overseas, international school. The question of global identity formation is central to leadership in the 21st century. The question of how overseas, international high school students see themselves in the world is of special interest to school leaders, to parents, and to the teachers who instruct them. Student interviews were keyed to five global identity characteristics found in current literature and analyzed for their proximity to those characteristics. Student responses were also compared to the schools’ curriculum data and mission statement for common ideas and themes. Educational, political, and business leaders could be encouraged by the results to expand research in this area.
